HELP UPGRADING MY PC

I want to upgrade my current gaming setup without spending much, so need the best possible suggestions.

My current PC specs:

Processor: i5-6400 2.7 Ghz

GPU: AMD R9 fury nitro 4GB GDDR5 (Tri cooling)

MOBO: Asu H170 (not the pro gaming version of H170)

PSU: Corsair VS 550

RAM: Hyper X (2x8 = 16 GB) DDR4

HDD: 250 GB

SSD: Kingston 120GB

Please give me suggestions, what should i upgrade next?

Budget: 300$ max

you can buy good SSD m.2 with high speed of R/W like 2000-3000 mb/s , on 1 Tb. it is best upgrade if you still dont have SSD. then you can sell your hard drive

But I already have an SSD 120GB, a normal kingston

I'd say upgrade your GPU to something a little stronger, or like Gold said: get a stronger SSD with more space and/or higher speeds. I'd definitely reccomend a samsung 970 Plus. Pretty cheap with amazing performance.

With 300 you won't be able to afford a motherboard CPU combo that would beat your current by a good enough margin to jump on it at this time.
Now for the Graphics card if you spent your entire budget or about $280 you can snag a GTX 1660 TI. It will drop your power draw and give you better performance in most games at reasonable framerates. at very high refresh rates such as 240fps in csgo and such, you will have better performance with the fury as the latency in the hbm2.
The PSU is fine and will continue to be fine for about 8 years after purchase then I would recommend a new PSU, Unless power demand goes up in the future then obviously 550 might not be enough.
If your motherboard has compatibility for a nvme SSD that would benefit you in loading and startup greatly. I can't check because I am only finding the pro version specs.
HDD Upgrade as space is needed
Note I would recommend an external backup drive to use every 2 - 4 weeks to create a system image.if one is not owned and used.

depends on what you use your PC for
in general you should pretty much upgrade all your main components if youre planning on playing modern games at decently high settings

concentrate on your GPU since you said its for gaming purposes

If its sole purpose is gaming , you should firstly upgrade your GPU . If you have budget left over grab a 1TB/2TB HDD . Games are very large nowadays and 250GB HDD will not help you.

i would get a better SSD/HD, and maybe change processor in future to AMD

I would say 300$ s not enough for switching cpu, cooler & mb.

But its a good tip for the future, AMD seems to be very good nowadays.

Switching to Intel would mean he would have to adjust his motherboard as well which would be at least another $100 on top of an Intel processor.

I would say upgrade your GPU.
