I have a copy of that book on my computer so I guess I'll use that then.

there is a great book entitled "C++ from the ground up" it is a really good book for learning C++ and it gets really deep and advanced

make sure you don't learn from an outdated book. so make sure it is the latest version of it.

I used the msdn one by herbert schildt it is somewhere in a sticky.

What do you guys think about: Ivor Horton's beginning ANSI C++(third edition)

+1000 pages, native C++ examples, detailed and illustrated explanations
The only problem: it costs $50 (in my country it was only 5 euro's)

What program does the book make you use?

That doesn't seem like much of a beginning book to me... lol

Also, what does ANSI mean?

(in other words when they say ANSI it means its standard)
