C++ can be very depressing because you never learn to make something very cool in C++ and even simple things seem very difficult.
You might be half way through a beginners book that is 400 pages and all you have coded so far is a Command Prompt program that plays a game of hangman with you. Just stick with it for a while and after maybe a year or so you might be ready to make hacks.
