Ex. Asking someone to thank to you for something else in return or creating a thread based game where you have members thank you as part of a rule

His thread was deleted (atleast i think it was) but he still has 80+ thanks from all the people who thanked him on that thread. I don't see the point for actually telling people to thank you. When I post a tutorial, I would say "thanks would be appriceated" which isn't telling people to thank me but if they do I appriceate it.

Yea, I would of banned him too, but it fucks with VIP subscription and I hate re-enabling it. Thank you is sorta like rep or karma, if you do something good, then people will thank you/rep you, except thanks are public. So if a newbie comes to the forum and sees that you have 2000 thank yous, seems like you are a trustable kinda guy IMO.

I've seen 2-3+ thanks spammers now. They have given 100 - 150+ thanks just for the sake of it. I suppose some people that have given around 25 - 50+ thanks might have being helped out allot maybe. Personally I like the Thanks system but I really don't see the point in abusing it at all. I don't know what kick anyone can get out of clicking a "Thanks" button on multiple posts. It doesn't make sense to me

Another thing. I don't know why people post "Thanks for this." etc, when they could just click the thanks button. This would reduce spam.
