Canned goods does not mean preservative food. You can take a glass jar of fresh peaches, boil it in the glass jar, air tight it and it'll be called a canned food.

Almost 90% of the can food you eat are real things, because you can't put chemicals as that'll spoil the food and if they are, they are there to make the food last longer. Sure, I know I don't want crap in my food, but if it good to keep it fresh then yes.
