yeah so basicly what was 1 lose section now became 3? whats next adding video creations to this section (not that i dont do this but i make mine with ps )

tobad for graphics department tough

ahwell i hope this works and sotw is now aotw? so they can change to poem/music complications D:

AoTW will be Visual Arts, there will be Poem of the week & video of the week etc, when the sections get more traffic.

I like it, the only thing that annoys me is that now this section is small and I have to look before I click instead of clicking the biggest section.

I directly link to the graphics section via a bookmark, nothing has changed.

i have to go from 2 bits to do over sotw
which is being removed
imo we should have different comps not just aotw sounds stupid to me
i would run multiple comps

If it doesn't work then its no big deal, it can be changed. What is the big deal about involving all forms of visual arts in the competition? I think it will prompt users to branch away from signatures.

personally i doubt it
tbh most of the people her only make tags cause thats all they can do
and having multiple forms in 1 competition wont work well if u ask me
especially if ur taking LA against tags
theyre completely different and u cant compare them properly, especially if u dont have knowledge
i think a photography one would be nice
but im pretty much the only one who does it much besides u (film boy)
and ive done that with entering SOTWs with photography and not everyone gets photography
i just dont see a competition with all different graphic forms working, especially on a site which has like7 people with real graphics knowledge

Isn't it your job / the job of the people in the section to prompt them to branch out and learn. You all are constantly ignoring them and going to your real graphics sites. I think we could severely improve the quality of the content in this section.

Like I said, if it doesn't work out then we could go back to the regular way of doing things. Personally, I thought that we would go with a contest model similar to the one PR uses.

Art in an opinion, if people vote solely on what they enjoy then voting should not be a problem.

tbh most people here arent gonna branch out and learn for one main reason
THEY DONT CARE THAT MUCH
shayne and i have tried things like LaOTW and didnt that go smimmingly
one fucktard minion tried to solicit votes and 2 of the top 3 made me throw up on my monitor
but srsly i see where u are coming from and i agree with it its just that past efforts havent been so successful and some of us just dont have the time nor the effort atm to attempt to run such things
this is one of the main reasons we need some new team members

What have we done besides telling them to branch out and complaining when they don't?

Direct links will be added, to improve traffic, and regarding AoTW, there are great artists out there, who can do amazing stuff with banners, LA, Drawings, etc, but are forced to sit out, so that some people can do sigs, and pretend they are epic at GFX because they confine themselves to 500x250. Like Leon said, Art is a matter of opinion, and a very wide umbrella, time to grow up and face the music.

but why not have sotw run aswell
there is no rule against having two competitions
maybe u wouldve seen this if u read my other post before deleting it

No, you're complaining, and I've seen enough of ur posts to notice. One thing is to explain and throw forth an opinion, or present an idea, but while raging and flaming people, and claiming its all shit, no one is gonna listen, specially when most of us agreed it was the right thing to do in order for the section to flourish.

I never said SoTW will be gone forever, i just said its off for now, once the section gets more traffic, and the Team is set and working good together, and everyone has a job, we will bring it back, but the age of exclusion, is over. You can still enter any signatures into the AoTW, as well as any other form of visual art. So in truth SoTW is not gone, just implemented into something bigger and better.
