Math In General Is Highly Prominent In The Society We Live Due To Our Standards Of Living And The Technology We Expect To Be Pushed Forth Into The Market. Now Is Everything They Teach You Necessarily useful? Not At All. Some Things Are Simply Thrown In To Develop Your Thought Process Skills.

However, The Majority Of Mathematics Is Useful In the Sense That, Although You May Have a Calculator or A Computer To Solve Your Problems. Someone With an Extensive Knowledge Of Math Had To Create it. If You Were To Erase Mathematics At this very point To a Limited Few, You Would Effectively Be Hindering Your own Development, And it Is For The Fact That Too Many Of The Younger Generations Refuse To Learn Things That Doesn't Benefit Them, That Causes Societies To Weaken. We Should All be Well Balanced In Any Given Subject Matter.
