You know, i wouldn't even sweat it. When i first got into programming I was very much into a chat program called ThePalace. I started by making a few apps in VB that i could intercept the packets being sent and received from the server/client and over time decoded the entire protocol. A few of my friends and I were hard into exploiting some of the security holes we found in the protocol and exploit we did. I remember i was BOS ( Ban On Sight ) in most servers that i wasn't friends with the owners on. We would goto a server and take over ownership of it and ban all the mod's changing passwords and other stuff. Eventually a few white hats released patches to our exploits so we used new ones to crash the servers repeatedly over and over... Lots of mayhem but hey we learned ALOT... and even released a few security plugins ourselves to fix alot of the vulnerabilities we uncovered and exploited.. That's the process afterall.
