HFS Editing.

I wondered if it is possible to edit codes for example like

So is it possible to edit the damage of the javlin?

are these values backed up at other location?
I don`t really know scripting so sorry if my questions are stupid :P
And I`d try to do it but I don`t wanna fuck up my game unless I know it might actully work :P

Rule of thumb, back up everything anyway. From what I'm aware of the short answer is no... But there's a crazy long complex answer of maybe...

Meaning easilly, no you can't... If you're a pro coder than possibly I however do not qualify.

Yeah I backed up this certian file, edited it,game won`t run.
Probably because when I use vzipflip to turn it to zip the file size decrease, and when I turn it back to hfs file it decreases again, is it possible it doesn`t extract some file/compress them? The original filesize is 284kbs and the hfs size after editing changes to 274kbs. or do you have any idea why the size changes?
When I edited other files (for example the binding hfs file) the size remained the same.

After the first wave of hacks/model editing Nexon put a Xor encryption on most of the hfs, also (it might be hackshield I'm not sure on this) but I've read that something checks the integrity of the files as well (Also may have just been when the game updates)... They have a mod to help edit some more hfs called good things lite they use it for model editing so I'm sure at least a little bit of it would apply to a few special hfs files. Generally though the issue isn't changing it from hfs to zip, it's changing them back to hfs while maintaining the integrity (Xor encryption + data)

EDIT: But to be honest I'm still extremely new to this as well... I've been here 6 days as of today, so I'm probably not the best one to ask. I'm just a relatively quick learner, and I've been a part of quite a few different hacking communities.

Well most of them reference quite a few different things too... I went through quite a few of them myself, there's a ton of gold to be had in them, the issue is the servercmds/developer commands being under lock and key. If we had all of those there would be no limit to what we could do.

I went over lots of them, most of them are files like "female_armor_broken" or something like that xD this is not really important for us :P

Zipflip all the HFS files, Unzip them all, cmd to the parent of the unzipped folders,

Ignore anything that's .comp as I believe that extension is appended only to files with second pass protection that are currently not amenable to modification. What's left is 90% of the files you're going to be interested in.

Another question:
Anyone has moving commands and spear throwing commands?
And if I do
bind "7" "exec *filename*.txt" it loads the script in the file when I press 7,right?

Edit: think I`ve found them
+moveleft
+moveright
+back
+forward

are working? (makes you move?)

Edit 2: Searched for spear throwing, seems like it called "+aim" , anyone knows if it`s true? (I would`ve checked the commands but I can`t access Vindictus ATM, I`m not using my comp. o:

How would you convert all the HFS files at once? I'm trying to do that so I can just look at the files. I'm quite bored.

Put the zipflip program at vindictus folder
navigate to the folder (probably "cd c:\nexon\en-us\vindictus")
"VZipFlip a hfs"
After that I`d suggest you to set the files order by type, make a new folder, and cut the zip files to there
after that organize by type again and delete the zips :P
you have .hfs files at one folder
and unpacked .hfs files at the other

Hehe it just takes lot of time to zip it all, I was too lazy to do it xD
BTW lost at the previous page, someone posted how to view the interesting files
most of the files are .mdl and .vtf and .wav and stuff u cant even read.
Check out .txt .cfg and .vmt (VMT is not really important, but you MIGHT find something interesting there , no idea thou, didn`t go through them)
There might be some more interesting file types, just didn`t see any other yet
