but why not just get the minimap mod. it has waypoints.

Because this is better for exploring? It adds depth to the game if your not any good with landmarks. A mini map just sits there and shows you everything.

A compass would point to your spawn, and if you didnt make the map near your spawn then they would still be useful. I never used compasses anyways though.

In my opinion, compass is useless, it doesn't point to your bed, only your original spawn

I hate the compass, its just annoying, BUT it dos lead to your bed becuse it IS your spawn point -.-

No it doesn't the bed acts as a spawn point after you sleep in it

after you sleep in it it becuase your spawn point.

The bed acts like a spawn point, but isnt actually a spawn point. jeb said this was one of the bugs he wants fixed, but until then, the compass always points at where you spawned.

jeb mentioned it on his twitter, but I doubt its a major concern. I hardly ever have any reason to go to my spawn, so Ive never crafted a compass for the purpose of using. :s
