set your house up for its use (cover any consumables or any liquids exposed to the air, let any living animal (other than the bugs) outside.
ride your bike around, go shopping , watch a movie out of your house, come back home, clean up the bugs on the ground :S

Naws they don't. If the female is hungry enough she'll go for the male no matter what size, but similarly if she isn't hungry enough she won't bother. Although mating for a spider requires a lot of energy, so they'll usually eat the male which is something like 80% more likely to eat it if its smaller than her
