circuit city, tiger direct, new egg etc have external dvd drives going for a little over 20 bucks.

I happen to need one to for my netbook. I would suggest getting the external drive cause then not only will you have a fresh reformat but also a drive for installing stuff

I use to have this drive before i sold it and old my netbook

it always worked good even for watching movies in the car and it has lightscribe for labeling DVDS

Create a bootable usb (Use Nero)
Go to your BIOS & Set it to boot from USB as first priority (it boots from hdd first)
Download w7 and open the iso using nero and burn it to the usb
then restart & plug usb in
follow instructions & done

If you can get an external DVD drive cheap, do that.

If not, create a bootable USB and reformat/install from that.
