Offering help with learning C++

Hi there. I've seen a lot of people on MPGH asking for help on getting started with C++/learning it. I'm willing to help out a couple of persons with that because I'm currently refreshing my own knowledge and I believe that helping others is a great way to keep it up to date.

I've been working on and off with C++ for 4-5 years now and I've also taken a couple of basic classes in school. However I want to make it clear that I'm absolutely no expert - I code for fun or if I need to for some reason, I never cared much for doing things the "correct" way either so I might not be able to help with everything.

I'm 20 btw and online on msn at least 2-3 hours most days.

People that are most likely to benefit from my help:

*You started with learning the basics in C++ and might need some questions answered or some help with finding errors

OR

*You want to get started with C++ and are willing to use google and read through basic tutorials without asking questions for every single step, however I can help if help is required or there's something you don't understand.

People asking how they can inject a hack dll they made in notepad or people that are asking for working hack sources will be ignored -> only serious applies please. I can also add that my hack knowledge is limited and if your only purpose of learning C++ is to make hacks for popular FPS games, I suggest you look elsewhere.

If anyone is interested they might post here or send me a PM. Please include your age and some info on your current knowledge/what you want to learn.

I'm aware of that, however some people might be interested in doing other things as well while others only want to get that latest VIP base working... Besides this is a C++ section and the discussions is not only about hacks.

You make me laugh.　When I was learning hacking was the last thing i wanted to do.

Well, i am currently reading a C++ book, and assembly book. So ill come back when i done reading them.

I know nothing really, but taking a dive in the deep end. I understand all the bullshit about it takes ages to master, but i'm willing to dedicate time to reading guides and books.

yeah, i do not care for hacking games, and blla blla, they do not give you a lot of money LOL it is beter to create a program or software, smth special that noone have created.

how will you help us, by creating a group room to msn? and btw i am in albania, and hour format is +1 here, so if you are in america, nearly 6 hour difference

I can help in private chat while I'm on msn and I got time to do so. Like I said, there's nothing better than tutorials because learning someone a lot takes time and it's pointless for me to repeat things that are already posted somewhere else. It's better if you have certain questions regarding something to ask me (whether it's code, errors, problems with your IDE/compiler etc), in which case I'll do my best to answer them or point you to a resource you can use.

I've been busy last couple of days and not on msn but as for you who posted your msn adresses here - I'll add you now. Anyone else genuinely interested should send me a PM with their msn as well. I've currently only talked to one on msn but I'll let you know if the applications are becoming too many. Skype is actually okay as well, I got that too but only textchat because I'm probably doing something else meanwhile and ain't got time to talk all the time.

And btw I live in europe, GMT 1+ (or is it 2 lol) is my timezone. I'm usually on during evenings.

I'd love to learn. I don't know anything about cpu programming.

What's a good compiler to use?
Visual studio c++ 2008 or 2010 and whats the difference between them?
