Hard Drive installation

So my dell computer doesnt wana turn on, so i took it to the computer repair and they told me it has a bad hardrive.

i was wondering because its not that hard to install it, but how will i isntall windows on it or does it have options or what

and dont comment saying

Google
or idk

i went to everywere i could think of but none say what to do after you installed it in.

Replace the harddrive. I love how 3/4 of these computer problems can be solved by common sense.

Yes. Do it.

buy a hard-drive
replace it with your old one
plug the SATA cable into the correct ports
turn on your PC, configure the BIOS and install an OS on it

Depending on how old his pc is, he might have to do some research into whether or not he needs an IDE or SATA drive.

BTW Why Is Your Computer FULL?

Get Windows OS on Disc... (XP/7)
Replace HD (IDE/Sata)
Go in bios and select first boot as CD-Rom & save
Boot from Disc & Install Windows
After windows has fully installed go in bios and change first boot back to HD, 2ND Boot to CD-Rom, 3rd Boot Disabled... Save and Thank me later...

Just look at your motherboard and if you see a sata port buy a sata hard drive. If you see IDE use IDE

That's what sata ports looks like on your motherboard if you don't have them get IDE. For IDE you need these kind of cables

Judging buy all these comments you'll end up being incredibly confused and fucking up your computer. Not that some of them aren't right but just post your computer model so we can figure it if it's IDE or SATA.

He never said it was a laptop.
