Devin and Brittany work as plumbers. In January, they made a combined income of $5,200 after working a combined total of 175 hours.Brittany's hourly wage is $7 more than two times Devin's. How much did Devin earn in January.

y=2x+7

175(x+2x+7)=5200
525x+1225=5200
525x=3975
x=3975/525 or 5.5714

im probably wrong tho as i just skimmed through it but check my work and see if its right

well im really not sure this is right, answer doesnt really make sense. i guess its 175/2*5.5714 if they both worked the same amount of hours... dumb problem

The decimals seem highly unlikely because its a job with a hourly wage... I've gotten that too, but it just doesn't work :|
