This also could be another problem that might be causing this, too. The VGA Cable is a plug that has two "screws" which basically fits into a computer and monitor socket that you basically need to tighten to connect them. It could be the VGA, like said. If you got another one lying around, then try that and see if it works.

On the most part, I still think it's your graphics card.

^ that.

Check if you have an integrated graphics gpu too (... do you have an extra VGA/DVI/hdmi port amongst the back panel usbs, sound stuff etc.?). If you do take out your gfx card, go into the bios using the integrated gpu and force the computer to use the integrated card as the main display source or w/e. Put the other card back in and boot the PC up, see if it's even detected. If it is go into Windows (you might need to force Windows to use the integrated gpu) and see if you can run any checks on the card from there

If you don't have an integrated gpu get someone else to test the card for you
could be driver issue or you could have set the driver to delay start
How do I fix it? And it has been like this since I got the pc
you have windows xp right?
If you have more than one gfx card or an integrated card you might have to switch your default gpu in the BIOS. Seeing as it's starting up right I doubt your PC has any weird POST errors but you could as well check if it does. Any chance you could quickly post what kind of build you're using? Especially the mobo / gpu configs would be appreciated.
This happened to me about a month ago. It's a graphic card issue. I went to my personal computer expert and he mentioned how my graphic card's 'tubes' had a 'bloom' - which caused my graphic card to stop functioning.

Before resorting to get another graphic card, try simple solutions. Maybe go into you CPU and clear the dust out, and remove the graphic card if you can, and input it in, etc.
Ironically, I was playing crossfire, and I got a blue screen, and then restarted my computer, and now my computer just shows a blank screen, but everything still functions normally, the sounds, fans etc. Then after about 5 minutes, it turns off. This has happened before, and I took it to the computer shop and they said it was a virus, but it cost me 120$ to fix it.
Im no good with computers so i dont know how to look at my graphics card and stuff, but here is a utube video of whats happening:
try taking all the plugged in things of you computer so then the only thing plugged in is your screen it could be a driver issue. second issue it could be the graphics card so open the side up and push the graphics card in if it has come out at all. as your computer does boot up sometimes it is not the hard drive i think because it made the start up sound so just means the screen is not working so just try the two thinks above. please can you upload some screen shots of the inside if the above doesn't work.
Ok I'll try it now, I'm going on camp for 5 days so I'll repost this thread
he is going to try the way i told him as its is most likely that and he cant get into the bios if his driver or gpu isnt work think a bit please. And he is on camp atm and he send he will repost the tread if these things dont work.
