It's not about the spam, that can be controlled. It's the fact that we really don't need one. Now that summer's over General is seeming more and more dead, if you want to discuss something you can talk here -- no need to draw more attention away from General with an IRC.

Putting up an IRC is a bad idea. We had bad problems with it in the past, bots included. Don't feel like going through that mess any time soon.
