Hacker in training

Hello everyone.

I am in second year of University taking a specialist in computer science, I have had a 4.0 in all CS courses to date. I program in java, python, and some other little languages too.

I'm here because the topic of hacking video games is very intriguing, however I do not fully understand how one goes about figuring out what needs to be done. Sounds like an ascenine question of course, but is there a "hacker" or whatever it is that you call yourselves here, willing to take me under their wing and help show me what this is all about? I am an exceptionally fast learner. It just appears like a very difficult thing to get started in, as a lot of sites provide bypasses and such, but few talk explicitly about the production of said coding.

Anyway nice to be here, I hope I get a response on this.

I could help but seems like you have more knowledge than me at programming. In hacking games the most common language to hack is to use C++.

If you're looking to learn how to create hacks for games, MapleStory may not be your best bet. Nexon has improved MS's security, the MS hacking community is nearly dead, and here at MPGH this section consists entirely of me and Dreamer, but mostly just Dreamer. I'd recommend another game and another section. Still, if you're really interested in coding for MapleStory specifically, the community definitely could use some more people knowledgeable on the subject. I wish you the best of luck.

so i am in middle school is there any way for me to learn how to make a simple maplestory hack and slowly build up?

Yes. Start learning the basics of C++. Videos and other tuts online are recommended.

I think the main this has something to do with finding the correct pointers and using those in your program and then hooking it into the game by injecting the dll you make from it.

For bypasses that's a whole different thing than making the game hacks which you can't make just knowing C++. You'll have to know how HackShield or GameGuard or whatever you are trying to bypass works so you can figure out what needs to be done so that you can actually allow your hack to work in the game.

I think it's pretty tough to get a start in figuring it all out but you might want to search for bypasses that people made long ago and maybe see if you can figure something out from their old bypasses so you can see what methods they used to create it or something.

You shouldn't even bother learning C++ if you want to hack video games, you should mainly focus on learning assembly and improve your reverse engineering skills. You have to reverse engineer the video game, and then you will know everything about it. Once you know how it works, you will know what has to be done.

You can't just NOP addies anymore.

This game you change around the packets and addies. So its still possible.
