Especially when they try too hard incorporate "interesting" plot twist. I miss games where you were one solitary soldier who was just a part of a grander whole. Last time I had immense fun in a war game was in Call of Duty 2. Longish campaign, very good graphics for the time, interesting set pieces and actual grand large scale battles (Stalingrad is one of my favourite missions of all time). I've yet to try Red Orchestra though.
I got Red Orchestra..game is pretty fucking hardcore bro.
No run and gun boomeranging knives across maps or noobtubing..
Just straight up realistic squad based strategy fps.
The sniper only servers are pretty fun too though..
