Last time I had immense fun in a war game was in Call of Duty 2. Longish campaign, very good graphics for the time, interesting set pieces and actual grand large scale battles (Stalingrad is one of my favourite missions of all time). I've yet to try Red Orchestra though.
I got Red Orchestra..game is pretty fucking hardcore bro.
No run and gun boomeranging knives across maps or noobtubing..
Just straight up realistic squad based strategy fps.
The sniper only servers are pretty fun too though..
I've yet to encounter hackers in that game either..I might pick up RO 2 after I buy the l4d series

Cod2/3 you were able to punch them if you had your pistol out (1 handed) and pressed the melee button = punch

I don't remember. I think you're talking about the console games which were shit.
Looks cool, but not going to get it. Looks like any other shooter I have ever seen
