Just read this post on /b/, made me lose hope in SOPA not passing because it is true. This is the post from memory;

The two things politicians are too scared to support are child pornography and terrorism. No one in the twenty first century wants to labelled a pedophile by the media or anyone. SOPA/PIPA is going to pass because (and the US government has done this before) they will add the legislation onto the end of the Protecting children against online pornography act, and no politician (not even Ron Paul) is balsy enough to say he doesn't support the Child Pornography act.

tl;dr they'll just add SOPA/PIPA legislation onto the Anti-child pornography act and no one will appose it because they are afraid of being labelled a pedophile.

If that happens then Google would get royally fucked (since gameplay on youtube gathers millions of dollars in ad revenue), ISPs will lose customers because shit that people access every day would be blocked, it will pretty much ruin the economy in a sense since there's plenty of ways people could lose jobs over SOPA/PIPA passing.

If the government WANTS to pass SOPA/PIPA? No, if you did research you'd know that Obama is against SOPA/PIPA. Doesn't mean that he can just veto the bill.. well he can, but vetoing a bill would just mean more shit he gets from certain organizations. Lobbyists exist for a reason, mostly to just be assholes and to try to pass laws so corporations can get more money.
