Personally I think they exist due to the numerous amount of sightings and also the fact that we haven't even come close to exploring even 10% of space. We don't know what's out there and the technology they possess probably outclasses ours.

Same, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to the fact that all we can do is imagine and guess for now. Who knows what the future may hold for the human race.
