My Java player keeps trying to update, even when I check the box that says "Do not ask me again" and if I leave my computer on overnight I will wake up to over 60 of these little windows asking me to update my flash player

Avira free is most likely one of the best free AVs out there, as well as being quite competitive with several paid ones. Alternatively F-Secure & Kaspersky are just plain awesome or, if you can waste resources, Btdefender & Symantec's stuff.

ESET. Also get vundofix and if you don't really want to dish out the cash and are willing to let something bog you down while you clean that fucker out of your computer go with Symantec AV. All else fails just reformat and stop google'ing porn.
