It's a good solid language but when i make a gui i prefer vb.NET (simple and easy) because i haven't ever bothered to attempt making a gui in python.

Making a gui in python is easy... but you need to download a gui library and you need to plan your thing.

QtDesigner (it come with PyQt4) is an alternative if you want to create a gui using drag and drop tool.
