Depends on your rank, what you are doing and who you are working for. You will earn alot more as a contractor working for a private company.
^

As dave said, it would depend on your rank, what job.

Also, you would need to be on your best behavior(obv) so that way they will have no reason to not pay u well.

There are no major wars to fight though. It's all about the benefits.

SAS are also the counter-terrorist group as well. Many times they go into countries (by request) and help them out as well if a terroristic threat arises and said country doesn't have an anti-terrorist group.
Good luck with joining them.
They don't take everyone :P

And if you fail during the joining tests you won't get in.

Thank you all for your replys!

Failing is no option here, I've been preparing since I was 13y old, I've trained to navigate and trained my physical status

now all that counts is mentality huh
Also make sure you have something to fall back on once you are out of the military. You won't be with them forever, so you will need to be able to get a job elsewhere. Don't restrict your thoughts to only the army.

Omg, someone said it!

Thats exactly what my problem is, I won't be there forever right. I don't know what other education you can do whilst you're there.

I'm not too familiar with the UK, but the military might pay for your schooling as long as you promise X years of service. If you could get that then you are set.

Life is short you know, they won't give you good education, perhaps engineering or nursing, but for the rest...

Well just as a thought, if you like nursing then you could go to school for a nursing degree and go into the military as a nurse there. Then once you are done with the military then you will be fine at getting a job at a hospital. Though you have to figure out what is best for you both enjoyably and monetarily.
