Unity3D is easier to learn, But it doesnt have the technology.

Did u kno Unity3D only have DirectX 9, while Cry and UDK both have DirectX 11, and many of its features, Let me give u a few

Please note that these scenes are not animated but are calculated In real time by the Graphics Card. So Yes you can make a code, add these features in the Model software and u got realistic looking games with lower requirements.

Its so easy even I did it (the cloth, didnt look at the source for the hair yet)

@tonyiscool101 Your going to learn nothing using Unreal or CryEngine. yeah there a great engine to learn but you wont get anywhere unless your a company with a lot of cash. Hence why I use Unity3D because i have a small group of developers that wanna be something. And we have a chance. We don't need a shit ton of money. CryEngine SDK sucks bahls. Can't even create a unique game. Unreal Is bettter in terms of "Your Own game" but still CryEngine and UDk have the same IDE software which is kinda lame. Untiy3D is quick easy and you can achieve good enough graphics. Once they use DirectX 11 you will wish you listened to me.

You will end up being like this kid. He commented on one of my game updates.

if that hasn't changed your mind, these developers(Friends of mine) are 2 people and they can create this. They will be making BANK soon!

LOL @ Unity3D. OBrozz that was stupid comment that he isn't going to learn anything with CryEngine or Unreal. On the contrary there would be less to learn with a little puny engine like Unity3D. I'm with that the "big engines" would be more or less a waste of time for a small-to-none dev team but if the goal is to learn, then go with Unreal or Cry. As to which is better, who knows (or cares), they are both great engines. If you want to "learn" about actual game dev then start from scratch. OpenGL, DX (D3D).

I never doubted his skills...

The techniques used in both of those engines will be seen much longer the Unity's. Like I said, IMHO, go with Unreal because Unity is to "High Level". Kind of like using XNA to create a Windows game.

You can Listen to Him if you Want, Unity is nothing like XNA to create windows game's , And Unity is not to High Level either. You can go with Unreal or Cry and end up with a Shitty ass Workflow. The Reason Unity is great for people new to game Devloment is cause it set the user to the right mindset one would use to development game's whether its AAA quality. The problem is with Unreal is that its hard to get to know and use its potentially to the fullest. If your not satisfied with Unity learn it the unity engine ,then go to Unreal. @OBrozz ( Help me Out here)

@tlokzz Yes that comment wasn't thought through very well. yes if you wanted to learn game dev learn OpenGl, DX but that's if you wanna sped years and years developing your own Engine/Game. It really all depends on what you want to accomplish and who you have on your side. For me Untiy3D was perfect because i am some nobody trying to create a fun game for everyone. I also plan on getting money off the game. If you used CryEngine to get money you have to spend $3,000 for license and UDK i'm not sure. I've used all of these engines for about a year and i prefer untiy3D. if you think about it Unity3D uses Directx 9 only. UDK and CryEngine use DX 11. High end graphics. My game will have graphics close to CryEngine 2 and will run on even computers that are terrible! Before you go insulting Untiy3D idioticlly i expect you to know both sides of the argument before you blindly insult something you don't know! I never insulted the end product of what CryEngine and UDK can produce. Next time don't go starting arguments in places you don't belong. Show me some of your work and I'll consider re-reading your comment in a brighter light!
