MOE VS. ETH [Voting thread]

For what it's worth, this was a hard choice.

The first one has blending issues around the head of Batman.
The flow is weird which ruins the overall feel of the tag.

The second one has badly executed depth and some parts look unfinished (the smudge on the right).
The effects are all over the left side whereas right side seems kind of empty.
I'm also not sure about that text.

The other one is really good also.. i just think that Eth's style is more unique and thats why i vote for it. also i love the colors.

Oh shit, I needed to explain my vote.

Eth, your smudging is eh. You have the right idea in mind; purple and chaotic, but not overly done as to ruin the flow or composition of it. Problem is, the smudging needs work. Some parts are too harsh, some are too blurred, and not meshed together well enough. You've seen enough smudge signatures; you know what I mean. Also, the purple sparkles? There's an overabundance on the left side. The lines to the top left and top right of batman are out of place, and do not seem as if they have any meaning being there. However, you the signature is well thought out. The theme is conserved, and easily noticed. The composition is slightly lacking, but great nevertheless. There are some quality smudging in there, as well.

The smudging background is subtle, and the lighting, needing work, is still quite good. There scheme gives off a feeling of warmth, and the black background helps to contrast between this light and emphasis this effect more. The flow is quite good, overall a good piece. However, there are too many lighting sources. There are some behind her, even though her render depicts the effect of light hitting her off from the left side. The squiggly line should be slightly brighter, and more contrasting, as if it was a neon sign. The symbol itself is out of place.

the flow on the first sig makes me vote the 2nd one, and the 2nd sig is more cute coz its a girl. the depth of batman is really off. tho it good i would still vote for moe moe

Eth's style is more original, and although depth, lighting and blending could be better, it is a better tag.

Voted for the first one. Even though there isn't much flow and the smudging isn't very sharp or intricate, it just has a better styling to it, and a more pleasing color scheme. The second ones lighting is too harsh, and the lines and the text thing really spoil it.

Not really anything else to add to matts description although I tend to like the more simplisticly flowy tags. That text/line on the second one ruined it for me.

first one, nice choice of colors and decent smudge.

2ND one.

The first one lacks blending ALOT, and the amount of empty space ruins alot of it, the size of the render has to be more focalish, the background is good though. Try using c4d's that give depth to the signature. As said your signature is lacking much depth, it doesn#t really appeal to me as much as the 2nd one.

Eth, I guess I get the deciding vote. More raw talent in the whole compo as a whole, I wasn't really looking for a perfect piece since neither of these are close to that but the other one is messy as fux.
