ASM /+*- C++ [JE - JMP]
'Afternoon guys, hope you can help me with some asm problem in C++

Im making some stuff with C++ now for a while and I need some asm for the memory too...
As you know __asm allows you writing own asm code to 'something'(, Im using dll injection).
I need to have a code changing a JE to a JMP, asked around, googled a bit but I'm (way) too noob with asm and I'm too short in this business to know the badasses.

Hope anyone has an idea how this mire goes.
PS: No begging but it would be nice if somebody could tell me some more about asm
what???

*(BYTE*)0xAddress = 0xEB; << will change it to jmp

Ikr, but keeps crashing, wanna try it with asm now
JMP is absolute, JE is relative.
Calculate the full address and then change the jmp.
Both are relative, however JE SHORT is a 2 byte instruction whereas JMP is a 5 byte instruction, there's your problem...

From your question I gather that you want the jump to always execute right? Change the JE instruction to a JNE instruction and you'll achieve the same results (assuming the result of a cmp or test is always negative) .
Well... Seems like shit isn't in the asm or whatever, thing just doesn't let me write properly, thanks for your help anyway

So, can I mark the thread solved and close it ?
Would help if you gave us a more concrete example (i.e with some code/whatever).
/Solved char..

Or in hex: 0x74 to 0x75
You can also use BYTE which also takes up one byte of memory like char. Also, you say "it's not writing properly". It could be because you didn't change the page protections. It could be read-only, so use VirtualProtect() to change that.
Marked Solved. No more posting.
