SolvedFailed to download patch file
Go to "taskmanager", then end "HGWC.exe" program.
The same happened to me, I needed to download the game again! This solved my error.
Happens a lot. You need to keep trying. Eventually it pulls through and the patch will finish.
Try to download patcher_cf from http://www.mpgh.net/forum/243-crossf...-6-2012-a.html
Spam the patcher_CF till it works if it gets stuck close it and open it again.

I kept opening it for like 1 hour the same so i got bored and slept ( this was on my father's laptop )
My father came took it and then shut it down so when i re started it It was PERFECT
