REZ Chams

Alright, so I followed this tutorial to make my rez chams. It works all fine and dandy but I was wondering how to make the character appear normal when they are not behind anything, like how legit sat chams works. I was told I needed to HEX edit it, so does anyone know how I should go about doing that?

yeah im not sure about how to hex edit, maybe its a hack that controls when the chams should be on or off.
