Untraceable Virus [Weekly Challenge]
So recently me and my friend entered into a bit of a programming battle. the challenge is to program a virus using only visual basic in one week that will infiltrate the other persons machine completely undetected and go about whatever nefarious business it likes. The winning virus must be near-untraceable, powerful, and stylish. There are however some ground-rules: No destroying the other competitors machine (this means little to no personal file modifications), no antivirus software installed on target machine, and no network-based viruses. So MPGH I call on you to help me win this battle. I will be installing my virus the easy way, social engineering. I am writing a black-jack program for fun and had asked him before the challenge even cam up to test it and give feedback. Little does he know that this program is a cover to install my virus on his system. The challenge is that I have to find a way for my virus to remain undetected for a couple days after the blackjack program installs it and for it to self-modify its code to remove the install procedure so that when he inspects the code the whole thing doesn't fall apart. Should be challenging enough for me (being a complete n00b) I want my virus to run as a service in the background and only open a command center style GUI when a specific keycombo is pressed. The keycombo will open a very small and simple login page which will then allow access to the command center. Also a separate keystroke will crash the system.... probably through a BSOD. I want the crash to be harmless but effective. The goal is that when the time comes for each of us to install our viruses on the others machine I will simply walk up and enter the keycombo on his machine and the virus will activate leaving him wondering how the heck I managed to install it.

What I Need Help With:

Specifically I need to know how I can run the system in the background as a service most likely. I want it to be invisible essentially, not appearing in task manager's application or process section. It CAN appear in the service section but I want to determine the name of the service myself so I can make it something inconspicuous that he won't think to end. I also need help making the service startup about 1 minute after reboot, and it needs to start up silently

The other thing I need help with is the blackjack launcher. I have no clue on how to make the launcher install the virus service silently and also to modify itself to hide the installation code. If the self-editing isn't possible at least make the code for install hard to find. Like possibly having it launch a separate program that will silently install the virus silently. The one line that launches a second program would be easy for him to overlook.

If anyone can help me with these things I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
Interesting project/contest.
Making your "Virus" a service:http://www.mpgh.net/forum/33-visual-...e-express.html (i think, i didn't get to fully check it out)
Black jack launcher: firstly, describe the launcher. what does it do? what does it look like? what is it's main function? as that will make it easier for us to slip our little virus into his machine. and downloading it as a dll maybe being named something like mscvr100d.dll and then having your blackjack launcher read that dll would be rather handy. however it would be a bit traceable and hard on visual basic.

also, why don't you just make it so you can't decompile it? so pack it with themida or something like that.

Hope i helped, press thanks if i did
The launcher is now going to be a simple sentence parsing magic 8 ball program, since my competitor has previously made one of these it will be irresistible for him to critique it. The 8 ball has a simple textbox and button interface that uses a simple instr function to check for common question identifiers and then spit out an appropriate response from a database of answers. I have done about 80% of the launcher so far. I need the launcher to appear completely innocent but on the press of the ask question button it should discreetly install the service that acts as our virus. Then it should remove all traces of the install code (or alternatively the install code itself should be hidden somehow, perhaps in an alternative process that is launched in one line of code)
Yes, because an "untraceable" virus can be written in .NET in a week. Stronglogic/10.
@BulletReign i think your going/ went to to much trouble. just make the program have the malicious code inside, and pack it with themida or something like that.
Lol this is freaking easy, i can give you sources of my viruses that allow complete control with a file of just 40kb. Crypt it whit a shitty .net crypter and it will e fud for a week. Then pump the size and spoof the extension to .mp3.

So.. is that untraceable? I dont think so.
Oh if you select the right options and have 90+ anti's like my rat then it would be untracable.

Releases
InJex v0.9B Preview
InJex v0.8B Release
InJex v0.7B

Sweet. Injectors.
You sure sound like a very knowledgeable person capable of coding rats and stuff on your own. Might I ask why you only release injectors?

Rats i coded are for private use only. And injectors and hacks are really the only things people are interested in nowadays on mpgh.

That doesn't mean you should limit your releases to only that specific thing, I'm sure if you were to release code or set up a bunch of tutorials on RATs or other things that aren't common around here you'd attract a lot of new people. I'd be interested in that.
Use the assembly class to modify the code:

Assembly Class (System.Reflection)

I heard this is pretty fucking easy to do, since you get access to intermediary code that looks almost like it did when it was still in source form. You won't have to bother with raw instructions like you would have if you weren't using .net.

Next, for your install part. I'm almost 100% sure that there is an 'evaluate' function in .net

*Searches*

Yep, use eval. I don't know how advanced this eval function is. But normally interpreted languages let you 'compile' and 'execute' strings at runtime. Great opportunity for some mischief there...

This also seems useful: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/...of-C-or-VB-NET

It shows how you can use the Assemblyclass to build and modify code on the fly.
You could just FUD crypt a RAT and pass it off as VB coded virus.
