Mob Trap

I was urgent to see how far I can pull my reflexes on mob trap looting, and it was pretty good. Until now.

Well for the mob killing part I was good, but....

The mobs drop down and die, (sky fall trap), but I have a minor problem. I need some sort of a water current to push all the loots into a single collection area, and I need to do that for all 4 sides. But I don't know how by the look of things...
I tried to put the water source, but the mobs then just survive..

I tried putting the lava killer but the gaps were too narrow...

Any help?

Oh, so you want it so the water could flow to somewhere? Well.. Hmm. I'm sure if you put water at the ground, the mobs would survive which would pretty much make your whole mob system void. I don't think there's really anyway, unless when the mobs die the drops go in front of it a bit. Then you could put the water stream a block ahead of it, and there you go.

I really think the best way is killing the mobs in lava.

I tried to install a lava blade but the gaps were to narrow. So when I put a lava blade in 1 cell, the 2nd cell's mobs will fall down ON the lava pit.

When I actually fall down, I die, but when the mobs fall down, they live, and they have much lower health than me....how is this possible

I found a way to do do this. Finished product, I think I'm getting at approx. 10K items/hour.
I'm going to extend my mob trap so I reach the point of 100K items/hour.
