The only possible explanation for the restart at login would be that you have some corrupted files. To repair you would have to use the Windows CD that comes with your computer.

At the Welcome to Setup screen, press R to select the repair option.
You will have to enter the Administrator password - if none, just press <Enter>.
At the recovery console - type chkdsk c: /r (if C: is the drive you want to check) > press <Enter>.
When the disk check is done:
Type Exit > press <Enter>.
Take the Windows disc out and reboot.

Or press f8 while your comp is starting and run windows in safe mode command prompt only
and on the first link type chkdsk /r

That may work for you to. Id try the 2nd method before the first.

he cant get his computer past boot.... windows starts to load and it crashes. He explaind that like 10 times!

Toliet the windows operating system is corrupt, If you need any files from the hard drive... do that first then...

insert windows disk into computer then restart it. Boot from disk. Do a quick format of drive C\ and re-install windows on C\ . This will fix all your issues.

you did right by someone who understands computers but he needs simple instructions.... otherwise he would already know this.

also it seems you keep directing him to repair but that wont remove the virus and stop the issues.

I did the best that I could, im sorry if it wasn't up to your "standards". Maybe you could of helped me 8 hours ago instead of critiquing my help when the baton had already been passed.

What you can do is add him on msn and give him the choobed down instructions.
