Chat improvement

There are a couple of things that i dont like in chat and that are (imo) possible to improve. If you guys have other ideas, we can assemble it all in the same thread.

So, i wish i had the following:
1. UP or Ctrl+UP for repeating last command (suitable if u make a mistake in nick spelling while PM, or if u push message to a wrong chat channel)
2. Chat ignoring options. It could be a loadable text file with keywords, or any other way. Example: exclude/ignore all messages containing "ORYX.IN". (Yes, i hate aggressive advertising)
3. Chat channel selection (all/private/guild messages) (like ctrl+1 ctrl+2 ctrl+3)
4. Stop/start chat auto-scrolling (especially suitable if you trade in USWest which is always crowded)
5. Predefined messages aka hotkeys ("/pause" "/g sphynx here")
6. PM to a person from the list ( i mean the list of people staying near you)

I am sure some of this points (#5) are already realized on some clients. Ideally i wanted to gather information about the best chat, so that when someone decides to make an implementation, he could simply check with this list.

I like the ideas. The chat system could use an overhaul as it is lacking some needed features. Just doing a little brainstorming...

Listed features that can be implemented by proxy:
2 (I think @flyrocket has done some work on this), 3 (Oryx Domination has the option /mute that mutes public chat), 4

Listed features that can only be done through client modification:
1, 5, 6 (this last one might be possible via proxy depending on how the user will cycle through the list)

Ideally, if work was to be done on this, one would like it to be easily updatable. The proxy is nice in this regard. Only problem with the proxy is certain things are just not possible with it (like hotkeys).

This is sort of off topic but since we are talking about the chat system, I would love to see a return of marinepower's *****.

Its fun, point 5 reminds me the /xmacro feature of marinepower

/xthes was displaying the thessal message : "He lives and reigns.."

No more mistakes in typing this message

If the proxy cant handle hotkeys, at least using a macro code is chat in faster than typing the whole commands

Also a external chat that had a search option like marinepower would be good.

I have just started working on making a custom blacklist filter and external chat pane, I suppose I can create chat macros too...
Only time I really have free time to code/test stuff is Fri/Sat/Sun at the moment, so it's going to be a while until i get these in.

@flyrocket, that's why you should let me help code ODom with you. Just an idea.

7. Auto-answer feature
Example: auto-answer to Thessal`s question "Is King Alexander alive?" - "He lives and reigns an conquers the world" in common chat. (not sure if it is still useful - i never seen her asking this question)
Or auto-answer to any PM or trade request in case of absence for more than 3 min "AFK %x min" - PM, ofc

I really like this idea !
Autoanswering if you are AFK = obvious clue that you are using a bot/proxy. :/

But just answering to Thessal (and not to other people saying that) may be possible (i say that with my limited knowledge about the chat system)
