This is a step by step noob friendly guide on how to reduce lag in CrossFire. This should be really easy to follow and Basic. I hope this helps everyone and thank me if I helped your cause!
Step 1: You will need to go download Game Booster from the link provided on the bottom of this post.
Step 2: Once downloaded, run it from a shortcut provided by the download or by going to the directory in which you installed it and click the little speedometer icon. It will pull up with a screen that looks just like this.
Step 3: At this point, to reduce lag, just click the button in the middle of that page up there that says "Switch To Gaming Mode".
Step 4: It will pop up with a box that looks like this. Just make sure the box is ticked that says "Check All"
Step 5: Now, just click the button in the bottom right corner that says "Close Them".
Step 6: It will run through and close all unneeded processes.
Once it is done, look in the bottom of the screen that pops up once everything is stabilized. Click the button that says minimize to tray.
Step 7: Play CrossFire
Step 8: Once you are done playing CrossFire, close CrossFire. Then, look in the bottom right of the screen on the system tray. You will see a little speedometer. Double click that.
Step 9: Click the button in the middle of the screen that says "Return to Normal Mode".
Step 10: Once it is stabilized again, just close it until the next time you want to play CrossFire.
I hope this TUT helped everyone and thank me if I deserved it. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here. If there is a major concern, I will update the TUT. Thanks!

Version 2 XP Only
This is another way to decrease lag in CrossFire. It closes the explorer tree by using a simple built in shortkey.
Step 1: If you have any injectors, activate them now.
Step 2: Once your injector is running, start CrossFire. But make sure you don't click the "Start Game" button that actually starts the game. Just open up the dialog box.
Step 3: As soon as you have that dialog box, open up the start menu and click turn off computer.
Step 4: Once that small window comes up that gives you three options and the cancel button, hold Control, Shift, and Alt at the same time and click the cancel button.
Step 5: By doing this, you close the explorer process.
Step 6: If you receive a message saying something is trying to close the CrossFire window, click no. It might come up three times, but then stop
Step 7: Once you're done playing CrossFire, exit normally
Step 8: To reopen explorer, hold Control, Shift, and then Press Esc
Step 9: This will open the task manager. Look in the top left corner and click file. Then, click the option that says "New Task"
Step 10: A little dialog box will come up. Type in that box "Explorer" (without the quotation marks"
Step 11: Done! Simply close the task manager and you won't get this anymore
Hope I helped!!!
