Akami handles the packet data that is sent to your computer and makes it a smooth transition of data. I don't understand why you cannot play the game, as i can turn mine off and still play AVA. My ping goes up and down as the packet data has not got a smooth delivery.
I would say that you have deleted an important system file, and i would make a sure guess that you need to re-install windows to fix it.
