Win 8 is actually a good OS, but designed for phones and tablets.

i'm still running to my old pc winXP and to my new i use win7!
I tried windows 8 for about 2 minutes, shut down and went back to 7.
I have Windows 8 because I bought a new laptop 
I have windows 8 because of performance enhancement (and it also has a uniqye multi-display support!)
