The entire existence of humanity is cancer upon the Earth. No one nation is responsible for our downfall. We are all corrupt, we are all evil beings.

I know he was simply joking. I just felt like responding.
This isn't an urgent need or anything right now.

I think they should be spending more time working on something more useful that is more of a "need" for us.

No. They are extinct because they were not well enough adapted to the world and it's current state.
At the minimum at least revive the species that went extinct due to humans
It's practially impossible for animals to adapt when their land is disappearing before they have time to adapt

I guess, but chances are that they will be extinct again by the same reason.

Zoos and gradual reintroduction back into secure wildlife would highly reduce the chance of going extinct again
The problem after that would be diversity in the form of genetics
I'm on the fence about this. It's good if could you bring back species like the dodo bird so we can see what a dodo bird is like up close.
Then again, if de-extinction is possible people might bring back dinosaurs and well, if they start attacking us that wouldn't be very pleasant.

Dw, the oxygen level on Earth is much lower than before, so they theoretically can't be that big, and if they were, they would consume much more energy than before
