No there's still some point. It allows scientists to better understand the fundamentals of how that animal lived. It's not really bringing them "back to life", it's more like altering the genes of its descendants to give birth to its ancestors. This allows us to protect biodiversity and genetic diversity. Not only does this undo the harms that humans have done, it also restore ecosystems as certain animals that were extinct contribute a major role in how the ecosystem functions. Once then, we will be able to prevent any further extinctions.
Good thing I didn't wear any jimmies, so this didn't really bother me.
Good go cool guys. I've got other things to do now

Lol, his post was so stupidly funny. I had to put it as my sig.
I watched a video by Michio Kaku on this, cool stuff.
He said of one day possibly being able to bring back a neanderthal

If we can genetically alter said embryos to live in the climates of other planets then I see a possibility, I only find it pointless for animals that have long been extinct.

To study it, perhaps?

I don't see it pointless, because pretty sure they aren't going to release them into the environment and grow up their species, but will probably just be researched in labs.
This is pretty cool, and like where its going.. but i do have my doubts.. this is how bad shit happens..

i can't really say more then that..

O'rly? i love jurassic park!! thx 4 the info
Technology is getting better and better so I wouldn't be surprised.
Quite an interesting subject if you ask me. Imagine the research possibilities if indeed this is deemed possible. With living, breathing subjects, we would be able to learn far more about ancient Earth then we can today.
