Quite easy to get kills, i was just saying as you rank up the games get tougher but you can still get quite a lot of kills. It can seem tedious when it gets tougher.
I was suggesting that you put a level 1 in your squad if you're like level 6+ so that you mind fuck the match making process therefore it puts you in a game with people with rank 1 so it might be easier to get some kills

It's true, it starts to get challenging at about lvl 12 since everyone is experienced.
I have pretty decent planes such as the spitfire MK 1 and 2, Beaufighter MK X, Vlc and the hurricane MK 2 (I have 5 crews)
It's decent enough to last me a couple more levels
PS do not choose Britain i regret it after the 7th level :/ rank up Germany if you're still in the low ranks
