Task Manager Problem!

I Need help i've tried all sorts, problem is...

I Can't get Task Manager to open i have tried Ctrl+Alt+Del and nothign happens i've tried Right Clicking the Bottom Task Bar and Selecting Task Manager and nothing happens, i've tried Start>Run>Taskmgr and that don't help, i've also tried doing a "Search" for Taskmgr and it just comes up with help files for README's and crap no actual tool, seems as if it is Deleted or summat didn't think it was possible.

When i do the Start>Run>Taskmgr it says "Another Program is currently using this file"

Like WTF!

I am all out of ideas, i'm running on Windows XP SP 2, i don't want to Re-Install Windows as there must be another way to get it fixed, anyone with any ideas PLEASE HELP

its a virus,

open up command prompt and type tasklist, find the virus then use the taskkill command with /pid then the processname

thats how to use taskkill if you dont know how



so as a repeat

1. Open command prompt, go to Run>type CMD>press enter
2.Type tasklist>look for the process that seems to be the virus
3.Use taskkill to close the virus
4. see if you regained your task manager


But i suggest do a full system scan first, or after your choice, but the culprit is prolly a frikken virus

Problem for some reason Command Prompt ain't opening now (was yesterday) just saying another program is using it

Start>all programs> accessories> system tools> system restore

Uggh, i hate doing System Restores it ends up dieing on me but i get lucky sometimes but this has been doing this for about a month now

Get someone to send you Task Manager.exe and replace the old one.

It's because you install viruses, when I was a n00b I use to get it. Now I can identify spyware and shit, and I know what to trust. You'll get there eventually.

I have Avast Anti-vir and that did jack shit it wouldn't do nothing for the 1 infeciton of worm and 1 infection of trojan
