I have a steam account that has most of my games on it along with gmod. I don't have much of an interest in getting that account banned in VAC or GAC. So my question is that if I make a new account and buy gmod on it and bypass/cheat on that account, is there a chance I could get banned on my main account with my games even though i was only cheating on my new account.

If you didn't use hacks on your main account then no you will not be banned on it, Just make sure you don't leave any bypasser running when you go on your main as it could trigger a ban.
