yea SAO is great, but only the first half. second was not so good but it grows on you if you watch it 6 times or so ( really use to like SAO XD )
try: Darker Than Black, Black lagoon, Angel Beats ( <-- one of my all time favs )
XD

Sword Art Online was pretty bad after the first episode. Anyways, here's my top 5:
1. Serial Experiments Lain
2. Gintama
3. Texhnolyze
4. Great Teacher Onizuka
5. Neon Genesis Evangelion

Watch the Gundam series. They aren't in any order, but in the the different series they use some of the characters again but with different names and they act different.

Mobile suit gundam 00 (By far the best one)
Mobile suit gundam unicorn (By far the second best one)
Mobile suit gundam seed (By far the third best one)

:/ Generic tron-ripoff, mmk.

Fate/Zero
Steins;gate
Monogatari series.

OreImo
Full Metal Alchemist
InuYasha
Eden of the East <3 <3 <3
Soul Eater
Blue Exorcist (I heard this was good, haven't actually watched it yet).

I watched so many anime so I can't say which is best :'(

Accel World - by SAO creator

OreGairu

Steins;Gate

Code Geass season 1 & 2.
Elfen Lied
Angel Beats!

Angel Beats !!!

This the one popular anime that i never watched. Im downloading it now.

Just go on my anime list and check out the top anime. Sure a lot of them aren't very much like sao but they're good watches. I also know accel world is set in the same universe and sao is like 10 years behind accel world. So its like a sequel.

best anime hands down is code geass watch it you won't regret it

I didn't really enjoy Code Geass and the ending really pissed me off. It's like calling Hitler the world's savior.
