I know the first reaction is to be vengeful, but trust me, it's not worth it. She's making an effort, going half-way across the world just to meet her family. She may not have been there for him before, but she's trying now. To deny her of that is him not being there for her. When she's gone and forgotten, he'll have wished he accepted her. We're only here once.

But yeah you're right, unless she had left him on intention for devious reasons...
