It's one of the worst ways to teach code because you're actually not learning shit. You're usually filling in the blanks with spoon fed code. They also spam you with eye candy to believe that you're learning but you still don't know anything. Reason is because you can't learn anything if you've only done around 10 hours work for it. You hit 1000 hours and you'll be getting somewhere. Also if you don't code often in the language you'll lose it, i've basically forgotten all my PHP, CSS and HTML and I've had around 400 hours worth of work made in it.

I'd also make a massive document of all the things you've done in python example of mine;

I find Code Academy really good to start you off with. After you get some basic hang of things, even though you haven't really learned much, you're more easily introduced to the area.

After that, you should look into some real readings and more advanced areas and pick up some things on your own.

I also have been having trouble figuring out what a TOTAL noob to coding should do. I have been wanting to learn to hack games (mainly FPS games). I know that I will need the utter most amount of patience and will encounter many really annoying problems which will probably make me rage, which I'm very prone to. So, back to the main point, What should I start off with? Should I start by learning a certain language before I learn C++ then move onto learning C++ once I have a solid understanding of the first language. What I understand is that most games use C++ for their core memory handling. So I need to probably learn it before I'm going to really get anywhere. I have seen many threads that have told people to start with easy programming languages, such as Python then go onto the more difficult ones, but I have also seen other people say just to go straight for C++ or something with having little knowledge of any other languages.

Yeah I thought about that, but it is related to C++ in a sense so I left it here. I'll move it.

I agree with this, I used it to learn jQuery in 2 hours.
