Help with vmware

I've been trying to use vmware workstation 10, but when I get to the main screen everything is really bright and flickers a lot. Also, I can't even access the options menu to change graphics. I can still log into the game and play but it looks messed up. I can't find any others who had this issue... anyone know what's wrong?
