Christmas
So I'm not a Christian, but I'm going to go ahead and start a discussion about something I believe is important.

Christmas has lost its religious significance.

I'm sure we all know it and we all see it.

There are more people taking their kids to sit on santa's lap than there are people going to church on christmas eve.

I believe this is very dangerous, people are drifting away from religion.

What do you guys think?
I go to church every week, not because I want to but because my parents force me, I was baptised and my mother is kinda religious and she just doesn't get that I don't give a fuck. To me, religion is just a pain in the ass so this shit doesn't really annoy me but I have noticed it.
I think it's great that it's lost its religious "significance".
Religion has and will likely always lead to war, don't get me wrong, I love the idea of people killing people.
It's just that it's senseless and usually unjustified and it's led by a source that doesn't exist caused by people with very strong belief in this system.

Can you explain this further?

People no longer recognize christmas as being Jesus's birthday.

Santa is more celebrated in christmas than jesus.

Need I say more?
Christmas is a Pagan tradition anyway, all the way up intil the Church jacked it to assimilate the populace.

Okay, so why do you find it dangerous if people are "drifting away from religion"?

As a "non believer" I ask you, Is it so wrong to celebrate something in the spirit of good will and consumerism without religion involved?

It's alright when you put it that way, but really the only reason I see it's a problem is because i'm a believer.

If you're a non-believer then you could care less.

But let me put it in a way that you can relate to.

If every year on your birthday, your family and friends gave your siblings presents along with you.

It's all in the spirit of good will, but it still defeats the purpose since it's no longer special towards you.

It's not the best comparison but it's the best i can do.

I am sorry, but you make no sense. This holiday is not about me...
What is your religion?
And once again: Okay, so why do you find it dangerous if people are "drifting away from religion"?

Yeah. Jesus wasn't born on Christmas. If you read the scripture about the shepherds and all that, it should be unbelievably clear why. Why the fuck would a shepherd be out fucking their sheep during winter? Also, Palestine weather is a bitch.
