Banning Question

I heard that their are many rumors on how to get banned for rust...

But i know how VAC works, but maybe its different for rust?

Are there ban waves or can you get banned by only using a detected hack or someone gets proof of you hacking?

If you use a hack once are you certain of getting banned?

Cheated with Cheat Engine for a long time on Rust (not official servers, haven't been on them), no ban.
Also used Oxidizer and some custom dll for a few weeks (also not on official servers) with no ban.
