Yes, none of these are for console.

Will this work on v1.8.3 of the game?

You can not.
That information is stored in your profile.bin file along with your golden keys.

It's entirely possible to change the currently active helmet on any characters, unless they are paid content.
If you want all the helmets look up the skin-save I have posted and you should have all of them, not including the paid ones, as there's verifications going to and from steam to see if you do have them.

Hey, I know its an old game. I wished to know if there are any working trainers as i am soling the game and its getting hard as hell. Also, please tell me what is the save editor used for. CHEERS!!!

The save editor is used to modify values in your character save. Such as money, skillpoints and the like.
You can also level your weapons and other gear to your level.

You should look into the tutorial that's available in my signature.
