Learning to create hacks?

Hey, I've been trying to create hacks that work on different games for quite some time now... I just have no idea what programs to use, or how to use them. I'm a pretty fast learner, though I have seen videos from YouTube and forum posts on here, yet I still have no clue how to do this. I'm only looking for someone to teach me the basics, and hopefully I could learn from there...
