Personal Build
CPU: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.2GHz
GPU: MSI GTX 970 4GB Gaming
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 16GB (2x8GB) 1600MHz Low Profile
MOBO: MSI 970 Gaming
PSU: Rosewill Capstone 750W 80+ Gold
HDD: 1TB Internal WD 7200RPM, 400GB Internal Seagate 7200RPM, 3TB External Seagate 7200RPM
SSD: 120GB Kingston, Windows/Boot drive
CASE: NZXT Phantom 240
OS: Windows 8.1 x64
Currently have a Corsair H60 as my CPU cooler and it is most definitely not enough. I think my Cooler Master Hyper 212 performed the same if not better by 4-5 degrees. Thinking of putting the Hyper 212 back in and putting this H60 in my HTPC for super quiet living room use. Leaning towards Corsair H100i, NZXT's Kraken x61, or the Noctua NH-D14 for my personal build. All input is appreciated, especially if you've used any of these products!
Once I get the CPU all nice and chill I want to put this rig into my living room as my HTPC and scrap my current. Either sell it all hella cheap to a friend in need or give it to my mother as her dedicated Facebook machine. The next build I'm going for is Intel's X99.
Will start another Battlestations thread once I'm done cleaning mine up. Tired of my furniture arrangement, time for a change.
My HTPC
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 970 BE @ stock 3.5GHz (because shit stock cooler)
GPU: MSI Twin Frozr 4 GTX 660 2GB
RAM: 4GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz
MOBO: ASUS M4N68T-M V2
PSU: 550W Dynex
HDD: 300GB WD Blue 7200rpm
CASE: Rosewill Challenger
Talk about Frankenstein PC. I threw this together while building my personal rig. Gets the job done. Plays most games (~2012) on high settings. Anything other than that I usually run through Steam's In-Home streaming.
